Last-Minute Plans Happen…Especially on Fourth of July

If you’re anything like us, your Fourth of July plans probably came together sometime between “What are we doing this weekend?” and “Wait…we leave tomorrow?”

Maybe your friends invited you to their beach house in Ocean City. Maybe your family decided to spend the weekend on the Eastern Shore. Maybe you’re packing up the car, preparing yourself for Chesapeake Bay Bridge traffic, and hoping this is the year Google Maps magically finds a shortcut that doesn’t exist.

Whatever the adventure, there’s one family member who probably isn’t tagging along—and that’s okay.

Not every vacation is dog-friendly, and not every dog enjoys spending a holiday dodging fireworks, crowded beaches, or unfamiliar hotel rooms. Sometimes the best vacation for your dog is one that’s designed just for them.

While You’re Making Memories, Your Dog Can Too

At Best Friends Fur Ever, Fourth of July weekend is one of our favorite times of the year. While you’re relaxing by the water or enjoying a backyard barbecue, your dog gets their own holiday filled with play, enrichment, belly rubs, and plenty of attention from people who genuinely love spending their day with dogs.

This month is packed with Best Friends fun! From patriotic pawtraits and splash parties during Red, White & Woof Week to frozen treats, pool parties, bubble bashes, superhero adventures, and tropical luau celebrations later in the month, every day brings something new for our guests.

No New Kid Day? No Problem.

If this trip came together at the last minute, you’re not alone. Every holiday we hear from pet parents whose plans changed, their pet sitter canceled, or they suddenly discovered their Airbnb has a strict “no pets” policy.

The good news? If your dog qualifies for our Play My Way program, there’s no separate New Kid Day required before boarding. Simply make your reservation, complete the required paperwork, and drop your pup off before you hit the road. We know holiday travel is hectic enough without adding another appointment to your calendar.

Fireworks Are Fun…Until You’re a Dog.

For many dogs, the Fourth of July is one of the most stressful weekends of the year. Between fireworks, visitors, and open doors, it’s also one of the busiest times for lost pets.

At Best Friends Fur Ever, your dog can enjoy the holiday in a safe, secure, temperature-controlled environment with caring team members onsite 24/7. We play TVs and calming music to help create a relaxing atmosphere, and we also have calming chews and other anti-anxiety supplements onsite.

Even better? Neither of our resorts is located near major public fireworks displays, helping keep the holiday a little quieter for our guests.

While you’re celebrating, you can relax knowing your best friend is safe, comfortable, and in good hands.

Heading to the Beach? We’ve Got the Dog.

Whether you’re headed to Ocean City, crossing the Bay Bridge, visiting family, or simply enjoying a long weekend away, you deserve peace of mind knowing your best friend is having a vacation of their own.

If you’re searching for dog boarding in Harford County or dog boarding in Baltimore County, we’d love to help make your holiday a little less stressful. Our team is here to make your dog’s stay safe, fun, and tailored to their individual personality—because no two dogs celebrate a holiday quite the same way.

So go enjoy the fireworks. We’ll handle the zoomies.
