That’s why BFFE offers three different dog daycare programs:
- Social Play: Dogs who genuinely enjoy playing with other dogs.
- Play My Way: Dogs who prefer individualized attention, smaller groups or enrichment.
- Assisted Canine Care: Senior and differently abled dogs or dogs who benefit from a gentler pace.
Each program is designed around the dog’s social style, energy, age and support needs while still providing meaningful activity, rest and fresh-air outdoor time throughout the day.
Three Dog Daycare Programs. Three Different Ways to Have a Good Day.
One of the biggest differences between BFFE and a traditional group-play daycare is that we don’t just change the group a dog is placed in. We can change the entire model of care.
Social Play
BFFE’s Social Play program offers supervised group play with dogs matched by size, energy and play style, with structured rest throughout the day.
Play My Way
BFFE’s Play My Way program offers one-on-one attention, enrichment, smaller social opportunities and sibling play — without requiring traditional group daycare.
Assisted Canine Care
BFFE’s Assisted Canine Care (ACC) program offers a quieter, slower-paced daycare experience for senior, aging and differently abled dogs, with mobility assistance, medication support and enrichment at their pace.

Team Party or Team Personal Space?
Dogs have social preferences. So do we.
Some dogs have never met a stranger. They walk into a group and seem to think everyone has been waiting specifically for them. Others maintain a carefully curated friend list. Some would rather spend an afternoon chasing a tennis ball, sniffing outside, working on enrichment or hanging out with their favorite person.
None of those dogs is doing daycare wrong. Understanding that difference is one of the most important parts of choosing the right kind of dog daycare.
Not Every Dog Needs the Same Model of Daycare
Many dog daycares personalize the group-play experience by sorting dogs according to factors such as size, energy or play style.
At BFFE, we take personalization a step further. We don’t just personalize the playgroup. We offer different models of daycare for different dogs.
Because sometimes the right answer isn’t finding a different group.
It’s finding a different kind of day.

What Is Social Dog Daycare?
Social dog daycare gives dogs opportunities to interact and play with compatible dogs in supervised groups.
At BFFE, our Social Play program isn’t simply about putting dogs together and letting them play.
Dogs are grouped using factors including:
- Size
- Energy level
- Play style
- Comfort within the group
BFFE uses a rotational play model, rather than expecting dogs to remain in continuous group activity all day.
Social Play groups rotate between activity and rest throughout two primary play periods:
Morning play: 8:00 AM–11:50 AM
Afternoon play: 1:00 PM–4:50 PM
That structure gives dogs opportunities to play, get outside and reset between active periods. The goal isn’t to create the biggest playgroup or keep a dog playing nonstop. It’s to create an environment where dogs who genuinely enjoy social interaction can have a good day doing what they love.
Can Parents Watch Social Play Daycare?
Yes.
Live pet cameras are available for BFFE Social Play groups, giving pet parents a window into their dog’s daycare experience during play periods.
Social Play May Be a Good Fit If Your Dog:
- Actively seeks interaction with other dogs
- Enjoys compatible playmates
- Appears relaxed and confident in group environments
- Responds appropriately to other dogs’ social cues
- Can settle between periods of activity
- Consistently seems to enjoy the experience
That last point matters.
Being able to tolerate other dogs isn’t the same thing as enjoying group play.
What Is Individual Dog Daycare?
Individualized dog daycare provides an alternative for dogs who don’t need — or don’t necessarily want — a traditional large-group daycare experience.
At BFFE, that option is Play My Way.
Play My Way combines personalized activities, human interaction and opportunities for carefully selected social experiences based on the individual dog.
Depending on the dog, their day may include:
- Outdoor activity
- Enrichment
- Play with a handler
- Toys and games
- Sniffing and exploration
- Individual activities
- Time with siblings
- Smaller or carefully selected social experiences
Like our other daycare programs, Play My Way is built around meaningful fresh-air outdoor time as part of the dog’s day.
It allows us to ask a different question.
Instead of:
“Can this dog handle group daycare?”
We can ask:
“What kind of day does this dog actually enjoy?”
How Do Play My Way Parents See What Their Dog Did?
Because Play My Way isn’t centered around one large group on a webcam, communication looks different.
Play My Way daycare families receive a daily photo and video report card showing pieces of their dog’s day.
That may include outdoor activity, enrichment, play, interaction with their care team or other moments from their personalized daycare experience.
It gives parents a way to see what their individual dog enjoyed that day, rather than only watching a shared playgroup.
Play My Way May Be Better If Your Dog:
- Prefers people to large groups of dogs
- Enjoys playing with siblings or a smaller circle
- Becomes overstimulated in larger groups
- Loves toys, sniffing, enrichment or one-on-one interaction
- Benefits from a more personalized pace
- Is unaltered and over seven months old
- Simply doesn’t enjoy traditional Social Play
And importantly:
A dog doesn’t have to “fail” group daycare to belong in Play My Way.
Play My Way isn’t a consolation prize for dogs who can’t do Social Play. It’s a different model of daycare for dogs who enjoy a different kind of day.
Plus, pet parents get to skip the Temperament Test or what we call “New Kid Day” and simply make a reservation and drop their pup.
What Is Assisted Canine Care?
Some dogs don’t need a more social day or a more individualized enrichment day. They need a slower, more supportive kind of daycare.
At BFFE, that’s Assisted Canine Care (ACC).
ACC is specialized daycare and overnight boarding for senior and aging dogs, differently abled dogs, and dogs who need more hands-on support throughout the day.
The environment is quieter and more relaxed than traditional group daycare, with care built around each dog’s comfort, mobility, routine and energy level.
Depending on the dog, ACC may include:
- Gentle outdoor activity
- Extra potty breaks
- Mobility assistance
- Medication support
- Low-impact enrichment
- Help getting comfortable
- Extra-plush, crate-free rest areas
- A slower pace with more hands-on attention
The goal isn’t to keep an older or differently abled dog “busy.”
It’s to help them continue enjoying meaningful activity, fresh air, attention and routine in a way that feels good for them.
Assisted Canine Care May Be a Good Fit If Your Dog:
- Is senior or aging
- Has arthritis or mobility changes
- Is blind, deaf or differently abled
- Uses a wheelchair or other mobility support
- Takes routine medications
- Needs more frequent potty breaks
- Benefits from help getting comfortable
- Still enjoys enrichment and interaction, just at a gentler pace
And this is an important part of BFFE’s philosophy:
A dog’s needs can change without their world having to get smaller.
A dog who once loved Social Play may eventually prefer Play My Way or Assisted Canine Care. The right daycare model can change as the dog changes.

What If My Dog Doesn’t Like Group Daycare?
Not every dog needs to love a big group of dogs. If your dog doesn’t enjoy traditional group play, that doesn’t mean daycare isn’t an option. They may simply need a different daycare environment.
That’s one reason BFFE has developed three daycare care models rather than trying to fit every dog into the same one.
The goal isn’t to get every dog into Social Play. The goal is to find the environment where that dog can have a genuinely good day.
Does Individual Dog Daycare Mean My Dog Can’t Socialize?
No.
“Individual” or personalized daycare doesn’t mean a dog spends the entire day alone.
And “socialization” doesn’t have to mean spending an entire day surrounded by a large group of dogs.
For a Play My Way dog, positive social experiences include:
- Interacting with a handler
- Spending time with a sibling
- Playing with carefully selected dog friends
- Exploring outside
- Participating in enrichment
- Playing with toys
- Sniffing and moving
- Resting between activities
Socialization should be about positive experiences — not simply the number of dogs in the room.
Do BFFE Daycare Programs Include Outdoor Time?
Yes.
Outdoor activity is an important part of the daycare day at Best Friends Fur Ever.
Social Play, Play My Way and Assisted Canine Care are all designed around approximately four hours of fresh-air outdoor activity, adjusted for the dog’s program, pace and individual needs.
That outdoor time might look very different from one dog to another. For a Social Play dog, it may mean running and playing with compatible friends. For a Play My Way dog, it might include sniffing, exploring, enrichment or interacting with a handler. For an Assisted Canine Care dog, outdoor time may happen at a gentler pace based on mobility, age and comfort.
Same goal. Different kinds of days.
Does BFFE Offer Dog Daycare Memberships?
Yes.
Dog daycare memberships are available for all three play program Social Play, Play My Way, and Assisted Canine Care (ACC) families who use daycare regularly.
Membership can make daycare easier to build into a dog’s normal weekly routine while providing member pricing and additional benefits.
What If I Don’t Know Which Type of Daycare My Dog Needs?
That’s okay. You don’t need to arrive at BFFE with your dog’s personality profile laminated.
We’ll get to know them. Choosing daycare isn’t about deciding whether your dog is “good” or “bad” at daycare.
It’s about understanding:
How does this dog like to spend their day?
Dogs change. Their energy changes. Their confidence can change. Their mobility and health can change. Even their social battery can change.
The right daycare should be able to change with them.
